So much to love about this little dress….home sewn sometime befor WW2, the ruched shoulders and tiny gathers at the top of the sleeves put it somewhere from the late 1930’s to early 1940’s. The waist is a separate section, with gathers under the bust; very flattering. The classic navy blue background is scattered with poppies and daisies in the teal, ocher, coral, and blue that look great with your bakelite. Made of rayon, she took the extra precaution of adding in some hand finishing to keep the seams from fraying. Clearly it helped, as alot of the issues that destroy these garments has been avoided! There is very little wear here, and could become a wardrobe stable. No closure, but I have added snaps to the side of these in the past; I believe it’s possible to do the same here. It has the original belt, with plastic buckle.
Bust: 36″ ( this is the measurement pulled to the outer limits of the fabric…I think a 34″ bust would fit better)
